Participants were 26 children from ages 5 to 14 at Iowa schools, with ranging degrees of ASD. The overlying motivation was to see an increase in the number of adult with ASD living on their own. The goal of this study, done at Iowa State University, was to use multi-touch tablets to encourage social interactions, collaboration, and understanding of emotions in children with ASD. I chose to read this research paper because, like our study, it focuses on trying to design and develop applications for a specific age and group of people, specifically children with some degree of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
